An Aspect of Love, Alive in the Ice and Fire
Westchester County’s Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary is a 179 acre marshland and wooded sanctuary on the Long Island Sound along a key migratory flyway with hiking trails, a half-mile beach, a nature center and pollinator garden, a bamboo grove, salt marsh wetland, summer camps, and 85 acre Manursing Lake. The sanctuary was established in 1985 and has been recognized by the National Audubon Society of New York as an Important Bird Area due to its significant habitats and flyway.
